Your feet are your best friends on the road. And you better treat them right and make sure they are comfortable. What you need is one great travel shoe that goes from all-day city touring to back-road sauntering to a casual dinner with a skirt. Like the Ahnu Noe Leather does.

Ahnu Noe Leather travel shoe

At HI Travel Tales, our travel is adventurOUS. That means we may indeed sip a cocktail at an urban bar, but we may do that after a very long day on our feet exploring rural streets and villages. My mantra: My feet betta be happy! And the Ahnu Noe Leather ($100) has kept my feet practically gleeful.

Ahnu Noe Leather takes on travel adventure

The Noe’s nubby “canvas-embossed” leather upper combined with some suede has the look of a super casual canvas sneaker but with more durability. And being waterproof, rain and showers won’t keep you from the explorations. I am a huge fan of support for all-day wear but who wants to wear something clunky? These look sleek enough to go with a casual skirt, adventurous enough to go with leggings, and urban enough to look chic with capris or jeans.

Walk miles in your Ahnu Noe travel shoes

I gained the stability I needed and pared down the footwear in my suitcase too, wearing these comfortably on cool to warm days, to even  (surprisingly perhaps) very very warm days without moaning about hot feet. And about those sweaty hot days? Never did I hear a complaint from my husband about stinky shoes. Guess the antimicrobial footbed did its work. Plus, the shoes dried out quickly to pull on again the next day or even the same evening.

Ahnu Noe Leather travel shoes in South Korea

Yup, I do love these shoes. They went along to Asia, Europe and to numerous U.S. cities too. Take note however that these (and other) Ahnu shoes I have worn can be a little higher volume. For my narrow, low-volume feet I had to add a SECOND thin footbed to take up the extra space. But these lace-up sneakers accommodated that add-on layer quite well.

No, you’re not going to hike technical, rocky trails with your Noe shoes, but the non-marking sole has enough comfy support to keep you happy on moderate, albeit groomed, trails.

Heck, we aren’t waiting any longer. Bestow that HITT Seal of Approval for travel product excellence on the Ahnu Noe Leather women’s shoe.

OOFOS sandals review for lightweight travel comfort

This traveler isn’t necessarily a flip-flop gal. Not enough support when you are beating back the miles exploring a city or park, or enjoying a museum or exhibit. The OOFOS sandals are a different breed, however: Super lightweight, supportive comfort for travel whether you’re putting in some legwork or loitering at a café.

Kahtoola Nanospikes: winter running traction

Kahtoola has long been known for traction devices, that is, crampons and spikes that add grip for staying upright when traversing snow or ice. But only in fall 2014 did Kahtoola come up with less, well, spikey traction devices geared for runners (and walkers too who desire something with fewer sharp points) – the Kahtoola Nanospikes.
