HI Travel Tales wins multiple travel photography awards

It’s been a good summer at HI Travel Tales when it comes to travel photography awards, with five of our photos each winning recognition on state and regional levels.
Therese Iknoian’s photo in the Museum of Islamic Arts in Doha, Qatar, was selected as a finalist in the prestigious California State Fair Photography/Fine Arts exhibit. That meant the photo was among the top 6 percent of all nearly 1,800 entrants. It was displayed in the Fine Arts hall during the month-long run of the State Fair in Sacramento, Calif.
In the Nevada County Fair in Northern California, both Therese Iknoian and Michael Hodgson came away with two awards for a total of four for HI Travel Tales:
Therese’s photo of performer and mustang trainer Bobbie Kerr at the 2018 Draft Horse Classic won a Best of Division and a blue ribbon.
Both Therese and Michael won second place ribbons: In the People division (color), Therese took a second place for her photo of a fisherman mending nets at sunrise in Essaouira, Morocco, which she took on a travel photography tour; Michael won a second place in the Landscape division (color) for a night photo from Niagara Falls illuminated.
And Michael’s photo of Therese petting a horse at the Draft Horse Classic won a third place in the color Draft Horse classic division.
What fun to see your photos framed and hanging in an exhibit AND to win travel photography awards!
