San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery

This national cemetery may not be so easy to access, off of Interstate 5 in the middle of the vast Central Valley, but it is beautiful, set among the rolling grassy slopes, albeit very hot on a summer day. The Korean War Memorial is a circular set of granite stones with the POW/MIA flag flying in the center.

The wine country can feed your soul – literally. The food and drink from world-class restaurants to top-rated wineries is endless. A stay at a spa can help you “detox” from all that indulgence. We selected the Villagio Spa in Napa for a short retreat that was more about the bliss than the bounty of Napa Valley.

Battery Point Light, Lighthouse Way, Crescent City, CA 95531, USA
